Via Magna Trip to Dalmatia As it was established on the final project meeting in Ivanec that the project is open-ended and that all parties are interested in countinuing the project, a goup of participants of the Erasmus+ Here Map Makers project from Geodetska škola intended to investigate possibilities for further students works on the Via Magna - Ancient Roads in Dalmatia and to look for the opportunity to update Here Maps along this historic trace. The group made an excursion to Dalmatia on 24-26 May 2019. The group visited Zadar and Nin as probable starting points of the ancient road. Further, we visited the medieval village of Visočane and other small villages of significance for the early Croat history (as found out by the students in their research), the ruins of the ancient fortified town of Asseria near Benkovac to proceede to the medieval ruins of Bribir near Šibenik. Šibenik and its renovated medieval fortresses was another point along our route. The investigating trip went on to Roman Burnum near Knin and it finished in Knin. Knin was the point where we started our return. The group established that the route was inspirational, but somewhat difficult to follow the exact points on the map.
